The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.21.15

वैराग्यात्पूर्णतामेति मनो नाशावशानुगम् ।
आशया रिक्ततामेति शरदेव सरोमलम् ॥ १५ ॥

vairāgyātpūrṇatāmeti mano nāśāvaśānugam |
āśayā riktatāmeti śaradeva saromalam || 15 ||

It is the want of desire, that fills the mind more than the fulfilment of its desires; dry up the channel of desire, as the autumnal heat parches a pool.
