The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.21.16

हृदयं शून्यतामेति प्रकटीकृतकोटरम् ।
अगस्तिपीतार्णववदाशाविवशचेतसाम् ॥ १६ ॥

hṛdayaṃ śūnyatāmeti prakaṭīkṛtakoṭaram |
agastipītārṇavavadāśāvivaśacetasām || 16 ||

Else it empties the heart (by sucking up the heart blood), and lays open its gaps to be filled by air. The hearts of the avaricious are as dry as the bed of the dead sea, which was sucked up (drained), by Agasti.
