The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.8.13

अन्ये ऊचुः ।
अशिरस्कं हकारान्तमशेषाकारसंस्थितम् ।
अजस्रमुच्चरन्तं स्वं तमात्मानमुपास्महे ॥ १३ ॥

anye ūcuḥ |
aśiraskaṃ hakārāntamaśeṣākārasaṃsthitam |
ajasramuccarantaṃ svaṃ tamātmānamupāsmahe || 13 ||

Some caroled said:—We adore that Spirit, which begins with the letter a and ends in h with the dot m (i.e. aham or ego);and which we continually inspire and respire in our breathings. (Aham) hansah.
