The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

बलीवर्दवदामग्नं मनो मदनपल्वले ।
आलूनशीर्णावयवं बलाद्राम समुद्धर ॥ ५१ ॥

balīvardavadāmagnaṃ mano madanapalvale |
ālūnaśīrṇāvayavaṃ balādrāma samuddhara || 51 ||

Lift up thy mind by force, O Rama! like a bullock from this delusive puddle (palvala) of the world, where it is shorn of its brightness and is weakened in its frame.
