The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

विषयादिषु मध्यस्थं चित्ररूपेषु शत्रुषु ।
दशास्वेतास्वनन्तासु लुठितं संकटास्विति ॥ ४८ ॥

viṣayādiṣu madhyasthaṃ citrarūpeṣu śatruṣu |
daśāsvetāsvanantāsu luṭhitaṃ saṃkaṭāsviti || 48 ||

Being cast amidst the bustle of business, and among men who are inimical or as dumb pictures to him, every man is grovelling in this earth amidst dangers and difficulties.
