The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.35.32

सरसि स्फारनैर्मल्ये कालुष्यं याति न स्थितिम् ।
तथैव स्फारकालुष्ये प्रसादो याति न स्थितिम् ॥ ३२ ॥

sarasi sphāranairmalye kāluṣyaṃ yāti na sthitim |
tathaiva sphārakāluṣye prasādo yāti na sthitim || 32 ||

But what is naturally foul or fair, can hardly turn otherwise at any time; as the limpid lake never becomes muddy, nor the dirty pool ever becomes glassy.
