अपि जीवितदानेन गुणिनं परिपालयेत् ।
गुणवत्संगमौषध्या मृत्युरप्येति मित्रताम् ॥ २८ ॥

api jīvitadānena guṇinaṃ paripālayet |
guṇavatsaṃgamauṣadhyā mṛtyurapyeti mitratām || 28 ||

The learned are to be supported even at the expense of one's own life; because the society of the wise affords a physic to the soul (psyches iatrion), though death should deprive us of our bodies.
