Yoga Vasistha [sanskrit]

223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.67.56

अनाख्येयं परा सत्तास्यातिवाहिकतामिव ।
सा गच्छत्यप्यगच्छन्ती तादृक्सत्यात्मभावनात् ॥ ५६ ॥

anākhyeyaṃ parā sattāsyātivāhikatāmiva |
sā gacchatyapyagacchantī tādṛksatyātmabhāvanāt || 56 ||

The nature of this abstruse essence, is as undefinable as that of the spirit; it appears to be in motion, when it is really at rest, as in our idea of the soul.
