The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.4.10

पौरुषं स्पन्दफलवद्दृष्टं प्रत्यक्षतो नयत् ।
कल्पितं मोहितैर्मन्दैर्दैवं किंचिन्न विद्यते ॥ १० ॥

pauruṣaṃ spandaphalavaddṛṣṭaṃ pratyakṣato nayat |
kalpitaṃ mohitairmandairdaivaṃ kiṃcinna vidyate || 10 ||

We evidently see the results of the exercise of our efforts, and nothing coming out from what the dull and mistaken call as chance or fate.
