The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.4.9

इह हीन्दोरिवोदेति शीतलाह्लादनं हृदि ।
परिस्पन्दफलप्राप्तौ पौरुषादेव नान्यतः ॥ ९ ॥

iha hīndorivodeti śītalāhlādanaṃ hṛdi |
parispandaphalaprāptau pauruṣādeva nānyataḥ || 9 ||

This (knowledge of truth) rises as the moon (in the human mind), and sheds its cooling and delightsome influence to the heart, that there is no other way to gain the fruits of our exertions but by our efforts.
