The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

जलवह्नयनिलाजस्रजातभीत्या पदे पदे ।
यद्भयं शैशवेऽबुद्ध्या कस्यापदि हि तद्भवेत् ॥ ७ ॥

jalavahnayanilājasrajātabhītyā pade pade |
yadbhayaṃ śaiśave'buddhyā kasyāpadi hi tadbhavet || 7 ||

It is this silly boyhood which is in constant dread of dangers arising at every step from fire, water and air, and which rarely betide us in other states of life.
