The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.3.22; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. सहायेनाहार्योत्साह-रतिर्, यथा —
मयि वल्गति भीम-विक्रमे
भज भङ्गं न हि सङ्गरादितः ।
इति मित्र-गिरा वरूथपः
स-विरूपं विब्रुवन् हरिं ययौ ॥४.३.२२॥sahāyenāhāryotsāha-ratir, yathā —
mayi valgati bhīma-vikrame
bhaja bhaṅgaṃ na hi saṅgarāditaḥ |
iti mitra-girā varūthapaḥ
sa-virūpaṃ vibruvan hariṃ yayau ||4.3.22||
English translation
Regaining enthusiasm for battle by another person’s assistance:
“ ‘Do not accept defeat in this battle, since I am bursting with fierce prowess!’ After hearing these words from a friend, Varūthapa charged toward the Lord, uttering unnatural sounds.”
