The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.2.120; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

जागर्या, यथा —
विरहान् मुर-द्विषश् चिरं विधुराङ्गे परिखिन्न-चेतसि ।
क्षणदाः क्षण-दायितोज्झिता बहुलाश्वे बहुलास् तदाभवन् ॥३.२.१२०॥jāgaryā, yathā —
virahān mura-dviṣaś ciraṃ vidhurāṅge parikhinna-cetasi |
kṣaṇadāḥ kṣaṇa-dāyitojjhitā bahulāśve bahulās tadābhavan ||3.2.120||
English translation
An example of sleeplessness in viyoga:
“King Bahulāśva, in long separation from Kṛṣṇa, became distressed in body and mind. Many of his nights gave up their pleasurable nature of sleep.”
