The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.2.119; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. कृशता, यथा —
दधति तव तथाद्य सेवकानां
भुज-परिघाः कृशतां च पाण्डुतां च ।
पतति बत यथा मृणाल-बुद्ध्या
स्फुटम् इह पाण्डव-मित्र पाण्डु-पक्षः ॥३.२.११९॥kṛśatā, yathā —
dadhati tava tathādya sevakānāṃ
bhuja-parighāḥ kṛśatāṃ ca pāṇḍutāṃ ca |
patati bata yathā mṛṇāla-buddhyā
sphuṭam iha pāṇḍava-mitra pāṇḍu-pakṣaḥ ||3.2.119||
English translation
An example of thinness in viyoga:
“O friend of the Pāṇḍavas! The arms of all Your servants have become thin and pale in separation from You. The swans have come down, thinking that those arms are stems of the water lily.”
