The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.156; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

tatra aparādhād, yathā —
sphurati mayi bhujaṅgī-garbha-viśraṃsi-kīrtau
viracayati mad-īśe kilbiṣaṃ kāliyo’pi |
huta-bhuji bata kuryāṃ jāṭhare vauṣaḍ enaṃ
sapadi danuja-hantuḥ kintu roṣād bibhemi
||2.4.156||
Augrya arising from offense to Kṛṣṇa:

Garuda said: ‘By my power the snakes have abortions. But Kāliya is offending my Master in my presence. I want to offer him to the fire in my stomach, but I am afraid of Kṛṣṇa’s anger.’ ”
