The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.2.274 ; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

तथा हि सप्तमे (७.१.२९-३०) —
कामाद् द्वेषाद् भयात् स्नेहाद् यथा भक्त्येश्वरे मनः ।
आवेश्य तद् अघं हित्वा बहवस् तद्-गतिं गताः ॥१.२.२७४ ॥

tathā hi saptame (7.1.29-30) —
kāmād dveṣād bhayāt snehād yathā bhaktyeśvare manaḥ |
āveśya tad aghaṃ hitvā bahavas tad-gatiṃ gatāḥ
||1.2.274 ||

English translation

These two types of rāgātmika-bhakti are illustrated in the Seventh Canto of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam [7.1.31]:
“My dear King Yudhiṣṭhira, the gopīs by their lusty desires, Kaṃsa by his fear, Śiśupāla and other kings by envy, the Vṛṣṇis of Vraja by their familial relationship with Kṛṣṇa, you Pāṇḍavas by your great affection for Kṛṣṇa, and we, the general devotees, by our devotional service in vaidhī-bhakti, have obtained the mercy of Kṛṣṇa.”
