The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.2.245; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

केषांचित् क्वचिद् अङ्गानां यत् क्षुद्रं श्रूयते फलं ।
बहिर्-मुख-प्रवृत्त्यैतत् किन्तु मुख्यं फलं रतिः ॥१.२.२४५॥

keṣāṃcit kvacid aṅgānāṃ yat kṣudraṃ śrūyate phalaṃ |
bahir-mukha-pravṛttyaitat kintu mukhyaṃ phalaṃ ratiḥ ||1.2.245||

English translation

“In some of the verses quoted from the scriptures, material results are attributed to the aṅgas for attracting persons possessing material consciousness. However, the main result of these aṅgas is rati(bhāva).”
