The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.2.246; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

संमतं भक्ति-विज्ञानां भक्त्य्-अङ्गत्वं न कर्मणाम् ॥१.२.२४६॥

saṃmataṃ bhakti-vijñānāṃ bhakty-aṅgatvaṃ na karmaṇām ||1.2.246||

English translation

“The consensus of those knowledgeable in bhakti is that karma(varṇāśrama duties) is not an aṅga of bhakti.”
