सोमं॒ गावो॑ धे॒नवो॑ वावशा॒नाः सोमं॒ विप्रा॑ म॒तिभि॑: पृ॒च्छमा॑नाः । सोम॑: सु॒तः पू॑यते अ॒ज्यमा॑न॒: सोमे॑ अ॒र्कास्त्रि॒ष्टुभ॒: सं न॑वन्ते ॥
सोमं गावो धेनवो वावशानाः सोमं विप्रा मतिभिः पृच्छमानाः । सोमः सुतः पूयते अज्यमानः सोमे अर्कास्त्रिष्टुभः सं नवन्ते ॥
somaṃ gāvo dhenavo vāvaśānāḥ somaṃ viprā matibhiḥ pṛcchamānāḥ | somaḥ sutaḥ pūyate ajyamānaḥ some arkās triṣṭubhaḥ saṃ navante ||
English translation:
“The kine (are) longing for the Soma; wise men (are) inquiring for him with praises; Soma being effused is purified blended (with milk), our adorations in the triṣṭubh metre are united in the Soma.”
