मा नो॒ रक्ष॒ आ वे॑शीदाघृणीवसो॒ मा या॒तुर्या॑तु॒माव॑ताम् । प॒रो॒ग॒व्यू॒त्यनि॑रा॒मप॒ क्षुध॒मग्ने॒ सेध॑ रक्ष॒स्विन॑: ॥
मा नो रक्ष आ वेशीदाघृणीवसो मा यातुर्यातुमावताम् । परोगव्यूत्यनिरामप क्षुधमग्ने सेध रक्षस्विनः ॥
mā no rakṣa ā veśīd āghṛṇīvaso mā yātur yātumāvatām | parogavyūty anirām apa kṣudham agne sedha rakṣasvinaḥ ||
English translation:
“O you brilliant wealth, let not the rākṣasa enter us, nor the torment of the evil spirits; Agni, drive awayfurther than a gavyūti from us poverty, hunger and the strong demons.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
Gavyūti: this is a measure = twokrośas; it implies an unlimited distance;
Hunger: kṣudham = ksapayitāram, the destroyer
