Rig Veda 8.25.17

Sanskrit text [Accents, Plain, Transliterated]:

अनु॒ पूर्वा॑ण्यो॒क्या॑ साम्रा॒ज्यस्य॑ सश्चिम । मि॒त्रस्य॑ व्र॒ता वरु॑णस्य दीर्घ॒श्रुत् ॥
अनु पूर्वाण्योक्या साम्राज्यस्य सश्चिम । मित्रस्य व्रता वरुणस्य दीर्घश्रुत् ॥
anu pūrvāṇy okyā sāmrājyasya saścima | mitrasya vratā varuṇasya dīrghaśrut ||

English translation:

“We observe the ancient rites of the imperial Varuṇa and the renowned Mitra, (rites) that are good for(our) dwelling.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
