Rig Veda 8.2.39

य ऋ॒ते चि॒द्गास्प॒देभ्यो॒ दात्सखा॒ नृभ्य॒: शची॑वान् । ये अ॑स्मि॒न्काम॒मश्रि॑यन् ॥
य ऋते चिद्गास्पदेभ्यो दात्सखा नृभ्यः शचीवान् । ये अस्मिन्काममश्रियन् ॥
ya ṛte cid gās padebhyo dāt sakhā nṛbhyaḥ śacīvān | ye asmin kāmam aśriyan ||

English translation:

“He who, a friend (to his worshippers), the doer of great deeds, tracing the catttle by their foot-marks,being without (other means of detection), restored them to those leaders (of rites) who willingly put their trust inhim.”
