Rig Veda 7.50.2

यद्वि॒जाम॒न्परु॑षि॒ वन्द॑नं॒ भुव॑दष्ठी॒वन्तौ॒ परि॑ कु॒ल्फौ च॒ देह॑त् । अ॒ग्निष्टच्छोच॒न्नप॑ बाधतामि॒तो मा मां पद्ये॑न॒ रप॑सा विद॒त्त्सरु॑: ॥
यद्विजामन्परुषि वन्दनं भुवदष्ठीवन्तौ परि कुल्फौ च देहत् । अग्निष्टच्छोचन्नप बाधतामितो मा मां पद्येन रपसा विदत्त्सरुः ॥
yad vijāman paruṣi vandanam bhuvad aṣṭhīvantau pari kulphau ca dehat | agniṣ ṭac chocann apa bādhatām ito mā mām padyena rapasā vidat tsaruḥ ||

English translation:

“May the brilliant Agni counteract that poison which is genitive rated in the manifold knots (of trees) and thelike, or which is smeared upon the knees of ankles; let not the tortuous snake recognize me by the sound of myfootsteps.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Knots of trees: yad vijāman paruṣi vandanam = vandanam etat sanjñakam viṣam: vandana is apoison so named; yad vividha janmani vṛkṣādīnām parvaṇi udbhavet, which may originate in thevariously-born joints of trees and others; Smeared upon knees: aṣṭhīvantau parikulphau ca dehat: paridehat =upacitam kuryāt, let him smear
