वै॒श्वा॒न॒रस्य॒ विमि॑तानि॒ चक्ष॑सा॒ सानू॑नि दि॒वो अ॒मृत॑स्य के॒तुना॑ । तस्येदु॒ विश्वा॒ भुव॒नाधि॑ मू॒र्धनि॑ व॒या इ॑व रुरुहुः स॒प्त वि॒स्रुह॑: ॥
वैश्वानरस्य विमितानि चक्षसा सानूनि दिवो अमृतस्य केतुना । तस्येदु विश्वा भुवनाधि मूर्धनि वया इव रुरुहुः सप्त विस्रुहः ॥
vaiśvānarasya vimitāni cakṣasā sānūni divo amṛtasya ketunā | tasyed u viśvā bhuvanādhi mūrdhani vayā iva ruruhuḥ sapta visruhaḥ ||
English translation:
“The summits of the firmament are measured by the light of vaiśvānara, the manifester of ambrosial (rain); all the regions are overspread (by the vapour) on his brow, and the seven gliding (streams) spring from thence like branches.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
All the regions: i.e., the smoke that rises from sacrificial fires become clouds in the atmosphere, whence the rain falls and rivers are filled
