वै॒श्वा॒न॒रं मन॑सा॒ग्निं नि॒चाय्या॑ ह॒विष्म॑न्तो अनुष॒त्यं स्व॒र्विद॑म् । सु॒दानुं॑ दे॒वं र॑थि॒रं व॑सू॒यवो॑ गी॒र्भी र॒ण्वं कु॑शि॒कासो॑ हवामहे ॥
वैश्वानरं मनसाग्निं निचाय्या हविष्मन्तो अनुषत्यं स्वर्विदम् । सुदानुं देवं रथिरं वसूयवो गीर्भी रण्वं कुशिकासो हवामहे ॥
vaiśvānaram manasāgniṃ nicāyyā haviṣmanto anuṣatyaṃ svarvidam | sudānuṃ devaṃ rathiraṃ vasūyavo gīrbhī raṇvaṃ kuśikāso havāmahe ||
English translation:
“We of the race of Kuśika offering oblations, desirous of wealth, having contemplated him in our minds, invoke with praises the divine Vaiśvānara, the observer of truth, the cognizant of heaven, the bountiful, the charioteer, the frequenter (of sacrifices).”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
Observer of truth: anusatyā: from anu and satya; the notion is not that of observing truth in the abstract, but of keeping faith with the sacrificer, by giving him the desired recompense to which he is justly entitled
