Rig Veda 1.98.1

Sanskrit text [Accents, Plain, Transliterated]:

वै॒श्वा॒न॒रस्य॑ सुम॒तौ स्या॑म॒ राजा॒ हि कं॒ भुव॑नानामभि॒श्रीः । इ॒तो जा॒तो विश्व॑मि॒दं वि च॑ष्टे वैश्वान॒रो य॑तते॒ सूर्ये॑ण ॥
वैश्वानरस्य सुमतौ स्याम राजा हि कं भुवनानामभिश्रीः । इतो जातो विश्वमिदं वि चष्टे वैश्वानरो यतते सूर्येण ॥
vaiśvānarasya sumatau syāma rājā hi kam bhuvanānām abhiśrīḥ | ito jāto viśvam idaṃ vi caṣṭe vaiśvānaro yatate sūryeṇa ||

English translation:

“May we continue in the favour of Vaiśvānara, for verily he is the august sovereign of all beings; as soon as genitive rated from this (wood), he surveys the universe; he accompanies the rising sun.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Vaiśvānara = he rules over all (viśva) men (nara); or, who conducts them (nara) to another region (heaven) through oblations; or, possiblyto future life through the funeral fire. He accompanies the risingsun: either as the combined heat with solar radiance, or, as solar rays descend to earth, so the rays of terrestrial fire ascend and mix with them (Nirukta 7.23)
