अ॒पाम॑तिष्ठद्ध॒रुण॑ह्वरं॒ तमो॒ऽन्तर्वृ॒त्रस्य॑ ज॒ठरे॑षु॒ पर्व॑तः । अ॒भीमिन्द्रो॑ न॒द्यो॑ व॒व्रिणा॑ हि॒ता विश्वा॑ अनु॒ष्ठाः प्र॑व॒णेषु॑ जिघ्नते ॥
अपामतिष्ठद्धरुणह्वरं तमोऽन्तर्वृत्रस्य जठरेषु पर्वतः । अभीमिन्द्रो नद्यो वव्रिणा हिता विश्वा अनुष्ठाः प्रवणेषु जिघ्नते ॥
apām atiṣṭhad dharuṇahvaraṃ tamo 'ntar vṛtrasya jaṭhareṣu parvataḥ | abhīm indro nadyo vavriṇā hitā viśvā anuṣṭhāḥ pravaṇeṣu jighnate ||
English translation:
“The darkness obstructed the current of the waters; the cloud was within the belly of Vṛtra; but Indra precipitated all the waters which the obstructor had concealed, in succession, down to the hollows (of the earth).”
