Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. रथाश्ववर्माणि च भानुमन्ति खड्गा महान्तोऽश्वरथाश्च चित्राः ।
धनूंषि चाग्र्याणि शराश्च मुख्याः शक्त्यृष्टयः काञ्चनभूषिताश्च ॥ ७ ॥

rathāśvavarmāṇi ca bhānumanti khaḍgā mahānto'śvarathāśca citrāḥ |
dhanūṃṣi cāgryāṇi śarāśca mukhyāḥ śaktyṛṣṭayaḥ kāñcanabhūṣitāśca || 7 ||
