Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. न हि मामाहवे क्रुद्धमन्यः साक्षाच्छचीपतेः ।
पुमान्योधयितुं शक्तः पाण्डवाद्वा किरीटिनः ॥ १८ ॥

na hi māmāhave kruddhamanyaḥ sākṣācchacīpateḥ |
pumānyodhayituṃ śaktaḥ pāṇḍavādvā kirīṭinaḥ || 18 ||
