Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. दग्धुमर्हसि तं पापं ज्वलिते हव्यवाहने ।
सर्पसत्रे महाराज त्वयि तद्धि विधीयते ॥ १९० ॥

dagdhumarhasi taṃ pāpaṃ jvalite havyavāhane |
sarpasatre mahārāja tvayi taddhi vidhīyate || 190 ||
