Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. तं विभुं देवदेवेशं तस्यैवानुचरांश्च तान् ।
प्रसाद्यार्थमवाप्स्यामो नूनं वाग्बुद्धिकर्मभिः ॥ १४ ॥

taṃ vibhuṃ devadeveśaṃ tasyaivānucarāṃśca tān |
prasādyārthamavāpsyāmo nūnaṃ vāgbuddhikarmabhiḥ || 14 ||
