Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. सर्वेषां त्वं प्राणिनामन्तकाले कामक्रोधौ सहितौ योजयेथाः ।
एवं धर्मस्त्वामुपैष्यत्यमेयो न चाधर्मं लप्स्यसे तुल्यवृत्तिः ॥ ३४ ॥

sarveṣāṃ tvaṃ prāṇināmantakāle kāmakrodhau sahitau yojayethāḥ |
evaṃ dharmastvāmupaiṣyatyameyo na cādharmaṃ lapsyase tulyavṛttiḥ || 34 ||
