Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. अर्धं मे केकया लब्धाः काशिकाः कोसलाश्च ये ।
चेदयश्चापरे वङ्गा मामेव समुपाश्रिताः ॥ ७ ॥

ardhaṃ me kekayā labdhāḥ kāśikāḥ kosalāśca ye |
cedayaścāpare vaṅgā māmeva samupāśritāḥ || 7 ||
