जाता मत्स्य-वरात् तास् तु
समुद्रे गोप-कन्यकाः
तथान्याश् च विचित्राः
पृथिव्या दोहनान् नृप
jātā matsya-varāt tās tu
samudre gopa-kanyakāḥ
tathānyāś ca vicitrāḥ
pṛthivyā dohanān nṛpa
jātā—born; matsya-varāt—by the blessings of Lord Matsya; tāḥ—they; tu—indeed; samudre—in the ocean; gopa-kanyakāḥ—gopīs; tathā—so; anyāḥ—others; ca—and; vicitrāḥ—various plants; api—also; pṛthivyā—of the earth; dohanāt—from the milking; nṛpa—O king.
English translation of verse 4.15.2:
He had many daughters. Some had previously been born from the milk-ocean and had been the goddess of fortune's friends, and now were born as gopīs by Lord Matsya's benediction, and others had been the plants the sprouted when the earth was milked.
