श्रुत्वोत्सवं शैल-वरस्य मन्-मुखाद्
गङ्गा-धरो बद्ध-कपर्द-मण्डलः
कपाल-भृन्न् अस्थिज-भस्म-रूषितः
सर्पालि-माला-वलयैर् विभूषितः
śrutvotsavaṃ śaila-varasya man-mukhād
gaṅgā-dharo baddha-kaparda-maṇḍalaḥ
kapāla-bhṛnn asthija-bhasma-rūṣitaḥ
sarpāli-mālā-valayair vibhūṣitaḥ
śrutvā—hearing; utsavam—the festival; śaila-varasya—of the king of mountains; man-mukhāt—from my mouth; gaṅgā-dharaḥ—carrying the Ganges; baddha-kaparda-maṇḍalaḥ—matted hair; kapāla-bhṛnn—with a necklace of skulls; asthija-bhasma-rūṣitaḥ—anointed with dust from bones; sarpāli—serpents; mālā-valayaiḥ—with garlands and bracelets; vibhūṣitaḥ—decorated;

Hearing of the Govardhana festival from my mouth, carrying the Gaṅgā in his matted locks, wearing a necklace of skulls, his body anointed with the powder of bones,
