श्री-नारद उवाच
श्रुत्वा वाक्यं तदा गोपी
प्रसन्ना गृहम् आगता
एकदा दधि-चौर्यार्थं
कृष्णस् तस्या गृहं गतः
śrī-nārada uvāca
śrutvā vākyaṃ tadā gopī
prasannā gṛham āgatā
ekadā dadhi-cauryārthaṃ
kṛṣṇas tasyā gṛhaṃ gataḥ
śrī-nāradaḥ uvāca—Śrī Nārada said; śrutvā—hearing; vākyam—these words; tadā—then; gopī—the gopī; prasannā—happy; gṛham—home; āgatā—came; ekadā—one day; dadhi—of yogurt; caurya—theft; artham—for the purpose; kṛṣṇaḥ—Kṛṣṇa; tasyā—of her; gṛham—to the home; gataḥ—went.
English translation of verse 1.17.27:
Śrī Nārada said: Hearing these words, the gopī became happy and went home.
Then one day Kṛṣṇa went to her home to steal yogurt.
