The Garga-samhita Verse 1.8.8, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 8 (Description of Shri Radhika’s Birth) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

राधावतारेण तदा बभूवुर्
नद्यो ऽमलाम्भश् च दिशः प्रसेदुः
ववुश् च वाता अरविन्द-रागैः
सु-शीतलाः सुन्दर-मन्द-यानाः

rādhāvatāreṇa tadā babhūvur
nadyo 'malāmbhaś ca diśaḥ praseduḥ
vavuś ca vātā aravinda-rāgaiḥ
su-śītalāḥ sundara-manda-yānāḥ

rādhāof Śrī Rādhā; avatāreṇa—by the descent; tadāthen; babhūvur—became; nadyo—the rivers; amalapure; ambhaswaters; ca—and; diśaḥthe directions; praseduḥ—became happy and auspicious; vavus—blew; ca—also; vātāsbreezes; aravindaof lotus flowers; rāgaiḥ—with pollen; su-śītalāḥvery cool; sundarabeautiful; mandaslowly; yānāḥ—going.

English translation of verse 1.8.8:

Because of Rādhā's descent the rivers became very pure and clear, the directions became auspicious and happy, and graceful, gentle, cooling breezes carried the pollen of lotus flowers.
