The Garga-samhita Verse 1.4.21, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 4 (Description of Questions About the Lord’s Appearance) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

श्री-श्रुतय ऊचुः
वाङ्-मनो-गोचरातीतं
ततो न ज्ञायते तु तत्
आनन्द-मात्रम् इति यद्
वन्दन्तीह पुर-विदः
तद् रूपं दर्शयास्माकं
यदि देयो वरो हि नः

śrī-śrutaya ūcuḥ
vāṅ-mano-gocarātītaṃ
tato na jñāyate tu tat
ānanda-mātram iti yad
vandantīha pura-vidaḥ
tad rūpaṃ darśayāsmākaṃ
yadi deyo varo hi naḥ

śrī-śrutayaḥ ūcuḥ—the personified Vedas said; vāk—words; manaḥand mind; gocarathe range; atītam—beyond; tataḥtherefore; na—not; jñāyate—known; tu—indeed; tat—that; ānandabliss; mātram—only; iti—thus; yat—what; vandanti—they say; iha—here; pura-vidaḥthe cholars of the Purāṇas; tat—that; rūpam—form; darśaya—please show; asmākam—to us; yadi—if; deyaḥ—to be given; varaḥ—a benediction; hi—indeed; naḥ—to us.

English translation of verse 1.4.21:

The personified Vedas said: Because You are beyond the material mind and material words, we cannot perfectly understand You. If You wish to give us a benediction, then please directly show us Your transcendental form, which the scholars of the Purāṇas say is full of bliss.
