Comparative analysis of commentaries and excerpts in English:

[Śakti, ruler of svapna and Turīya; Śiva, ruler of Suṣupti and Turīyātīta]

In the mental states of Jāgrat, Svapna, Suṣupti, Turīya and Turīyātīta, Śakti rules the Svapna and Turīya states. Śiva rules the states of Suṣupti and Turīyātīta. The fourth state has to be transcended to stay in Turīyātīta state and the stability in this level depends upon the steadiness in Turīya state. Thus Svātantrya Vimarśaśakti enables the shine of Cit (Prakāśa).
