The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 8.27

मुखैश्च तासां नयनाम्बुताडितैः रराज तद्राजनिवेशनं तदा ।
नवाम्बुकाले ऽम्बुदवृष्टिताडितैः स्रवज्जलैस्तामरसैर्यथा सरः ॥ २७ ॥

mukhaiśca tāsāṃ nayanāmbutāḍitaiḥ rarāja tadrājaniveśanaṃ tadā |
navāmbukāle 'mbudavṛṣṭitāḍitaiḥ sravajjalaistāmarasairyathā saraḥ || 27 ||

Then that royal palace was illumined with their faces pelted by the tears from their eyes, as a lake in the time of the first rains with its dripping lotuses pelted by the rain from the clouds.
