This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 53.45

इदम् एव उदककुम्भं आदाय इमाहि एकपदिकाहि ।
अस्माकम् आश्रमपदं गत्वा वचनेन मे भणेसि ॥ ४५ ॥

idam eva udakakumbhaṃ ādāya imāhi ekapadikāhi |
asmākam āśramapadaṃ gatvā vacanena me bhaṇesi || 45 ||

“So now take this pitcher of water, go to our hermitage along this footpath and speak to my parents in my name. (45)
