2.2. Cause and Aspects of Karmic Bondage

sa asravah
  —(Tattvartha Sutra 6.2)

‘The threefold action is the cause of the inflow of karma.’[1]

Regularly we state more joyful occasions fly though a tragic period of one's life appears ages. In the event that we contemplate over the equivalent in setting of karma, sorrow (or agony) shows heavier karmic particles though joy communicates lighter weightage of karma.

‘Joy by and large implies that a digression of karma has happened and the natural joy of the spirit is experienced to a more noteworthy degree, while torment implies the inverse: that through an expansion in karmic impact the broken identification of oneself with the nonself has expanded, which is simply the basic fault underlying bondage of the self in samsara, the cycle of repeating resurrections.’[2]

Thus we can see numerous individuals, in our environment, saying in their awful occasions, "who recognizes what papa (detestable) I did in the past that I need to hold up under this today?"

prakriti sthiti anubhava pradeshasa tadvidhayah
  —(Tattvartha Sutra 8.4)

‘There are four aspects of bondage: type, duration, intensity (quality) of fruition, and mass of the material particles assimilated.’[3]

The result of karma is not something given by some superior, divine power but is natural.
