Yoga Vasistha [sanskrit]

223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.170.32

लोकाचारविरुद्धेषु शवं सकलकर्मसु ।
आर्याचारविचारेषु वासुकिर्वा बृहस्पतिः ॥ ३२ ॥

lokācāraviruddheṣu śavaṃ sakalakarmasu |
āryācāravicāreṣu vāsukirvā bṛhaspatiḥ || 32 ||

He continues as a dead body, in acts which are against the social usage; but in conversations regarding polity and good manners, he is as eloquent as the wise Brihaspati, and as fluent as the snake Vasuki.
