The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.99.46

लभ्यते यद्विचारेण यत्सकारणकं स्थितम् ।
तत्सच्छेषं तु भामात्रमभूतं सत्कथं भवेत् ॥ ४६ ॥

labhyate yadvicāreṇa yatsakāraṇakaṃ sthitam |
tatsaccheṣaṃ tu bhāmātramabhūtaṃ satkathaṃ bhavet || 46 ||

Whatever is found as true, both by reason and proof, the same must be the certain truth; all else is mere semblance of it; and not being actual can never be true.
