The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.29.1

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
नित्यमन्तर्मुखस्तिष्ठ वीतरागो विवासनः ।
चिन्मात्रममलं शान्तं कर्म सर्वत्र भावयन् ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
nityamantarmukhastiṣṭha vītarāgo vivāsanaḥ |
cinmātramamalaṃ śāntaṃ karma sarvatra bhāvayan || 1 ||

Vasishtha continued to say said:—Remain always to look inwardly in thyself, by being freed from the feelings of passion and desire, continue in the performance of thy actions every where, but reflect always upon the quiet and spotless intellect within thyself.
