223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.126.61

भूमिकात्रितयं जाग्रच्चतुर्थी स्वप्न उच्यते ।
विच्छिन्नशरदभ्रांशविलयं प्रविलीयते ॥ ६१ ॥

bhūmikātritayaṃ jāgraccaturthī svapna ucyate |
vicchinnaśaradabhrāṃśavilayaṃ pravilīyate || 61 ||

The first three stages, are represented as the waking state of the yogi; but the fourth is said to be the state of his dreaming, when the visibles disappear from his sight; as the dispersed clouds of autumn gradually vanish from sight, and as the scenes in a dream recede to nothingness.
