The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.113.7

अनात्मात्मैकरक्षार्थं देहान्नानाविधानसौ ।
भूयोभूयो विनाशेऽपि सृजत्याकुलतां गतः ॥ ७ ॥

anātmātmaikarakṣārthaṃ dehānnānāvidhānasau |
bhūyobhūyo vināśe'pi sṛjatyākulatāṃ gataḥ || 7 ||

Thus the impersonal soul being imbibed with the idea of its personality, tries to preserve its egoism for ever; it enters into many bodies of different kinds, and creates new ones for its abode upon the loss of the former ones.
