The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.50.14

चित्तान्तरेव संसारः कुम्भान्तः कुम्भखं यथा ।
चित्तनाशे न संसारः कुम्भनाशे न कुम्भखम् ॥ १४ ॥

cittāntareva saṃsāraḥ kumbhāntaḥ kumbhakhaṃ yathā |
cittanāśe na saṃsāraḥ kumbhanāśe na kumbhakham || 14 ||

The world is situated in the mind, as the air is confined in a pot;but the mind being restricted to itself, the world is lost to it; as the pot just broken, lets out the air to mix in endless vacuity.
