The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
संसारसागरासारकल्लोलैरुह्यमानया ।
मतेर्मानद मूकत्वं यया जनतयार्जितम् ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
saṃsārasāgarāsārakallolairuhyamānayā |
matermānada mūkatvaṃ yayā janatayārjitam || 1 ||

Vasishtha said: These multitudes of men, that are carried away by the waves of the torrents of the sea of worldly pursuits; are deaf and dumb to the admonitions of their spiritual instructors.
