The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

विहरन्ति स्वमात्मानः संसारवनचारिणः ।
कामभोगोलपग्रासमृगा नरसुरासुराः ॥ ४९ ॥

viharanti svamātmānaḥ saṃsāravanacāriṇaḥ |
kāmabhogolapagrāsamṛgā narasurāsurāḥ || 49 ||

All embodied souls of men, gods and demigods, rove in the wilderness of the world, for feeding upon their fodder of food, as the deer graze in their pasturage.
